We want you!

East Timor Women Australia (ETWA) is a Melbourne based not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. We work to support women in three remote communities on the eastern tip of the island of Timor-Leste. In East Timor, we work with the Cooperative for Tais & Cultural Development (CTCD) which works with three weaving collectives of women from the poorest and most disadvantaged families in the region. Operating according to the tradition of fulidai-dai; a set of cultural principles that prioritises equality, reciprocity and the support of the whole community the weaving collective produce unique handmade products including scarves, bags, bookmarks, boxes and traditional cloth.

As the Administration and Member Support Manager you will help ETWA staff and volunteers to ensure our members and supporters are engaged and well informed about ETWA projects, campaigns and news. You will assist the Finance and Administration Coordinator to manage and regularly update the Members Database and will assist in the production of our Quarterly Newsletter.

You will need to be an independent worker, responsible and reliable, have experience using administration tools including Microsoft Access and Office systems and be willing to commit to at least 5 hours per week.

As an ETWA volunteer you will be supported by our staff and team of dedicated long-term volunteers. You will have access to office space and will be reimbursed for any ETWA related travel expenses.

What will you get out of it?

  • An opportunity to utilise your skills for an important cause
  • Skills and experience working within a small, volunteer driven community organisation working within a community development framework to engage and connect with others
  • An opportunity to be part of something great!
